Together with the admin team of the Facebook group “Uptrip.App – Flight Rewards”, we conducted an Uptrip user survey. So far, nearly 50 participants have responded. Below, we want to summarize the results for you.
Overall, the survey shows that there are both dedicated collectors who engage daily and occasional users who mainly focus on accumulating miles and status points.
It is important to note that the results primarily reflect the perspective of the engaged Uptrip community. Consequently, casual users are underrepresented in the survey. Participation is still possible, and we will update the results over time.
Longstanding Uptrip User Base

Many survey participants have been using Uptrip for years. Since Miles & More actively recruited new users in 2025, this means that all subsequent survey results come from long-term and loyal Uptrip fans (or at least existing users). This Uptrip survey, does do not represent newer users.
Why Do People Use Uptrip?

Collecting miles and points is by far the most important motivation. However, nearly half of the users are also interested in partner offers or enjoy collecting cards in general.
Miles & More has clearly succeeded in creating a tool that integrates its partner network and even engages users beyond immediate rewards.
Uptrip Survey: Usage Activity
The picture here is very mixed – even among long-term Uptrip users.

Interestingly, around 60% of users open the app only when traveling, a few times per month, or even less frequently.
Notable finding in data analysis: There is a strong positive correlation between app usage frequency and users who indicated collecting cards.
For Uptrip, this suggests that creating additional incentives could further increase app engagement.
Number of Uptrip Cards per User
One-third of participants report owning up to 50 collectible cards. Another third owns between 51 and 200 cards. No participant reported having more than 1,000 cards.

Not surprisingly, there is a correlation between how long someone has been using the app and how many cards they own.
A wide variety of cards are already in circulation. With nearly 600 different cards, no one has yet collected all possible Uptrip cards. Especially since some cards are very rare.
Nevertheless, Miles & More will eventually need to address the issue of “card inflation.”
Conclusion of the Uptrip User Survey
The results reveal an engaged core community that has been actively using Uptrip for years and has integrated collecting into their travel routine.
Most participants use the app regularly, though not daily, and already own a considerable number of cards.
Miles & More has succeeded in creating a system that works not only through traditional rewards but also through the enjoyment of collecting and partner offers, fostering long-term user engagement.
Moreover, the data suggests that with increasing card numbers and a growing user base, issues such as card inflation, new incentives for regular app usage, and feature development will become more important.
More details from the survey, including specific user behaviors, community requests, and rare cards in circulation will be shared in the next part in a few days.
