Uptrip Survey 2025 – Part 2: Feature Requests & Travel Behavior

by Max

This second part of our survey analysis focuses Uptrip user feedback on future collection wishes, requested features, user frustrations, and a surprising insight into how Uptrip influences travel decisions.

As in part one, the results mainly reflect the views of active and experienced Uptrip collectors. Occasional users remain underrepresented. In case you missed it, you can read up our first part of the Uptrip user survey.

When asked what they want from future collections, users sent a clear message. They want more valuable rewards. The most common wishes include:

  • Upgrades such as business class upgrades including eVouchers
  • Lufthansa Status like Frequent Traveller (FTL) or Senator Status (a very optimistic participant mentioned even HON Circle Member)
  • Status perks (instead of status itself): Lounge Access (Business / Senator and even First Class)
  • Miles & Qualifying Points, which remain core motivators
  • Lufthansa Accessories, including miniature aircrafts or First Class ducks

Moreover, users expressed interest in more flexible collecting mechanics. For example, some suggested a card lottery or a trade-in system where you can exchange unwanted cards for desired ones. The later seems to be addressing card traders mostly.

Feature requests were another part of the survey. Many respondents see room for improvement. The most requested Uptrip App features were:

  • Collection statistics for themselves and others (around 70%)
  • Daily limits for marketplace offers (40%)
  • Folders for organizing cards (35%)
  • Chat functionality for direct communication between users (30%)
  • Zoom function for cards during trades (20%)

Additionally, several users shared creative suggestions. For example:

  • Introduce rarity scoring, to make trades more transparent
  • Add better filters and search options to simplify trading
  • Allow airports or destinations to sponsor special cards
  • Bring back the concept of “Editions
  • Add a collector’s album that also displays redeemed cards

These ideas show that the community is both engaged and creative. Users want features that make collecting clearer, more transparent, and more fun.

While there is excitement about new features, some current aspects of Uptrip frustrate users. The most common complaints were:

  • Trade spam, which some described as “a horror story”
  • Technical issues, such as bugs or missing card images
  • NFT features, which many users consider unnecessary
  • A need for a spam reporting tool to prevent abuse

One of the most surprising results is how collecting influences real-world travel behavior. About half of all respondents said that their travel plans were influenced by the chance to collect a specific card. This is a remarkable finding. For many users, Uptrip is not just a digital game. It directly impacts how and where they travel.

The second part of the Uptrip survey shows a passionate community with clear priorities. Users want valuable, status-focused rewards, better features, and less spam, along with a smoother and more transparent experience. Uptrip already influences real travel decisions, giving Miles & More a solid base to build on. By acting on this feedback, Uptrip can strengthen engagement and grow its community further.
